Product design process is a complex system engineering. To improve the management efficiency of product design process, this paper, presents a new mode of product design process management from the perspective of modularization. Firstly, the related concepts and attributes of product design process module (DPM) are put forward. Then, the structure model of product design process based on DPM is established, and this model describes the hierarchy structure clearly. And next, an innovation mode of product design process modular management is introduced. This mode includes three parts, which are modular decomposition of product design process, information modeling of design process module, and task configuration of design process module. With this model, design process managers can capture the key process flow information, which could help them manage the whole process from a more comprehensive view.
