Abstract
A low complexity method of signal subspace estimation without eigendecomposition and its application to multiuser detection is presented. In the new method, the signal subspace is spanned by the signature waveform of the desired user and the interference subspace which can be estimated through the columns of the correlation matrix. It has almost identical performance to the recently proposed multiuser detectors based on signal subspace estimated by eigendecomposition. Numerical simulation results are provided to support our claims.
