  • Abstract
In multiple-wavelength WDM CATV links, we show that the significant fiber nonlinearities are stimulated Raman scattering, cross-phase modulation, and a recently identified effect, the optical Kerr effect with polarization dependent loss. We present the crosstalk generated by these effects as a function of modulation frequency, optical power, and wavelength spacing between channels.
