Abstract :
A mathematical model of a proposed subsea natural gas well, pipeline, and control device was derived to simulate the dynamics of the system. Expected operational conditions that affect system dynamics were estimated and added to the model to make the system realistic. The mathematical model was then implemented on a personal-computer-based simulation software package. The model was validated, and used to investigate the system´s behavior. The original control strategy was tested to determine its viability, and new strategies were tested to try to improve response within the confines of the system´s operation and physical limitations. A workable control strategy is presented, and this system is analyzed for different operational modes
