Today, faced up with the frequent fluctuations in international oil prices, domestic oil enterprises must reduce costs as much as possible in order to enhance its ability of resisting risks. As the bottleneck in oil company´s development, high-cost block is even more important and difficult during management process. Therefore, study on high-cost blocks´ analysis and management countermeasure is conducted, using one oilfield as an example. Firstly, the principal component and cluster analysis model is applied for assessment and managerial focuses are accordingly pointed out. Then, according to the present production and management conditions influencing high cost level, an innovative management mode is promoted to meet the objective of reservoir management decision, which will continuously optimize oil company´s activity and build up a long-term mechanism of block sustainable development in future.
