Management of QoS Metadata for Consuming Interactive Digital Media at Home

The consumption of media in consumer´s home is rapidly going towards an all-IP infrastructure ­ IP-TV or Video-on-Demand (VoD) are just two examples. Today´s network resources are still lacking on the capacity to provide optimal and efficient mechanisms to provide optimal QoS on service layer. The EU IST project ENTHRONE 2 aims at the provision of an ENTHRONE Integrated Management Supervisor (EIMS) for providing optimal QoS. This paper describes the metadata management solution for the provision of optimal QoS developed within the ENTHRONE 2 project.
