Abstract :
The use of interactive Kalman filter design tool capability in threat-warning sensor systems is described. A programmable Kalman filter design tool kit (PKDFT) is used to improve engineering concept development productivity through rapid prototyping of Kalman models and reduce hardware performance support requirements while preserving the robustness of the solution through proper choice of state, measurement, and input vector dimensions. This synthetically generated database system allows the user to interactively analyze cause-effect relationships between filter variables and easily interpreted filter output graphs. The result is a real-time airborne threat tracking solution that accomplishes the specified mission
