Abstract
In this paper, the concept of Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP) is introduced to provide a more flexible approach for evolution of Object-Oriented Database (OODB). Firstly, the characters of OODB are described, and then the method to identify concern is discussed. After analyzing the current techniques and existing problem of OODB evolution, a new approach of using update/backdate aspects with selective lazy conversion of objects is proposed for class version.
