Abstract :
OFDM systems are very sensitive to phase errors induced by oscillator instability. We present a pilot-based phase estimator, which is applied to a one-tap frequency domain LMS equalizer for OFDM systems. However, if the residual phase error is too large after compensating in the time domain, the LMS equalizer may not have good convergence behavior. In order to keep the LMS equalizer working normally, we utilize a pilot-based phase estimator to estimate the residual phase error and keep the LMS equalizer convergent.
