Abstract :
This study investigates enhancement of the inversionless lasing domain in broad-area three-level systems. Through a linear stability analysis of the trivial non-lasing solution and a numerical integration of the Maxwell-Schrodinger equations, it is shown that diffraction allows the extension of lasing to a large cavity detuning domain. In addition, this work demonstrates that inversionless lasing in a self-pulsing regime still occurs in the presence of diffraction.
