Abstract :
This paper demonstrates self-induced antiphase pulsations featuring three-frequency locking, quasiperiodic oscillations (i.e., motions on a 3-torus) in a three-mode microchip solid-state laser operating on a double-Λ transition. The origin of dynamical instabilities attributes to enhanced nonlinear stimulated absorption due to interference of lower-level atoms in a microchip laser which has a shorter photon lifetime than a fluorescence lifetime of lower-levels.
