Title :
CALS configuration/data management system for an Air Force SPO
Author :
Martin, Hollis W. ; Conner, William R.
Abstract :
An integrated approach to automated data management (DM) and configuration management (CM) for an Air Force system program office (SPO) is described. The intent of these systems is to provide an environment where automation is used to the fullest extent to embrace the computer-aided acquisition and logistics support (CALS) initiative in the CM-DM area. The authors discuss general software design objectives applied to the combined CM-DM system and its parts, the separate CM and DM systems. They consider design techniques applied to the user interface. The CM and DM systems are separately described. These descriptions include a review of functional requirements and of the software implementations. The data integration of the CM and DM systems is described. Future expansions of this software are discussed
