Abstract :
The seriplane images of cotton yarn were analyzed by digital image processing technology in this work. The seriplane digital images of cotton yarn were obtained by techniques of smoothing treatment, thresholding segmentation, and image impairing. The average diameter of yarns in the seriplane images of cotton yarn was calculated accurately. Thereby, a relevant method was established to digitally analyze the seriplane images of cotton yarn. By the method, a quantitative evaluation index was proposed for the standard photograph of cotton yarn. Thus, it is possible to evaluate the standard photograph of cotton yarn objectively, which provides the basis of automatic evaluation of seriplane images of cotton yarn.
