Title :
Hybrid DS/SFH-SSMA over mobile satellite log-normal shadowing channels

Abstract :
This paper investigates the bit error rate (BER) performance of the hybrid direct-sequence/slow frequency-hopping spread-spectrum multiple-access (DS/SFH-SSMA) system and proved that both diversity and coding are required for satisfactory BER. The system is operated over multipath log normal (light, average and heavy) shadowing channel which is the case of mobile satellite channel. We consider binary-phase shift keying modulation (BPSK) with coherent demodulation. Predetection multipath diversity (maximal ratio combining) are employed for improving the BER performance with different coding techniques
