Abstract
Due to the unprecedented use of adjacent and UHF taboo channels in the same community for terrestrial DTV broadcasting, receivers can be subject to interference largely generated internally by non-linear processes: intermodulation and cross modulation in the tuner. The paper explains why this is so and proposes ways receivers can be designed to mitigate these interference mechanisms.
