Abstract :
Intelligent Flight Trainer has the potential for delivering effective training at reduced costs, which makes automated training possible. After a brief review of current systems, we find that it is necessary to augment the flexibility in editing their tutoring procedures. By representing behaviors in the form of behavior tree, we implemented a behavior editor by which flight course designers can authoring instructional advices in a modularly, easy to reuse way. The runtime engine loads the script file exported by the authoring tool and drives the intelligent flight trainer which coaches the student if needed by providing real-time feedback. A test of the relatively complex flight maneuver - standard rectangular traffic pattern shows that the framework works well.
