Abstract :
Development of a low-cost DSP-based laser scanner is described in this paper. The laser scanner is mainly intended for use on belt conveyors in wood industry, for volume measurement of materials like wood pellets, sawdust and wood chips. A prototype of the scanner has been created and investigated. The prototype is based on TI DM6437DVDP evaluation board. It enables to process 14,5 fps at 360 times 576 pixel resolution.
