Abstract :
This paper presents a new soft commutation forward power converter operating with almost unity power factor. A power converter with high power density and high operation efficiency is obtained with the proposed approach. Sinusoidal input current can also be obtained satisfying IEC 555-2 standards. The operating principle, theoretical analysis, relevant equations, simulation and experimental results for the power converter are presented
