The following topics were dealt with: using Xilinx FPGAs to implement neural networks and fuzzy systems; hardware implementations of multilayer feedforward neural networks and error backpropagation using 8-bit PIC microcontrollers; an introduction to modular map systems; hardware implementation of neuro-fuzzy system with an analogue-digital hybrid neural chip; forward-backward building blocks for evolving networks with intrinsic learning behaviours; neuro-fuzzy networks for process modelling and model-based control; and neuro-fuzzy approaches to fault diagnosis and identification
