Abstract :
A waveguide-to-coaxial-transmission-line probe transition acts as a monopole, in a waveguide. This structure is matched to free space and then it is shown how it can be matched to any arbitrary waveguide types including radial, circular, TM/sub 01/, rectangular, single or double ridge and trough guides. Ideal rectangular waveguide-to-coaxial transitions, right-angle, as well as end-launched, have been realized with a VSWR>
