The Research of Pedestrian Protection Technology for the New Car Engine Hood

Abstract :
The paper first addresses the improved design of a new engine hood of the sedan compact car. Then a finite element analysis is carried out according to the requirements of EuroNCAP regulations on pedestrian protection. The results show that the optimized hood is able to meet the requirements and up to the 3rd class EuroNCAP standard.
