Abstract :
Although firms can extract precious knowledge from the growing volume of maintenance data, a considerable proportion of these data is untapped. In order to discover knowledge from these huge amounts of data to support maintenance decision making, data mining can be considered as a powerful tool. However, according to the literature on maintenance, the application of data mining in maintenance needs greater attention and further exploration. In this regard, in this study the effort has been made to propose an overall data mining based algorithm for enhancement of maintenance management. Finally, an Iranian medical equipment case is studied to illustrate the usage of the proposed algorithm in the real world.
