Abstract
This study presents an effective approach to the demonstration of discrete diffraction and discrete spatial solitons in planar cells with the nematic 6CHBT. For the first time, the possibilities offered by a voltage-tuned geometry in conjunction with a reorientational nonlinearity are illustrated.
