Abstract
Electrical energy and its availability are key factors of modern industrialized societies. The challenge to mitigate today is the shortage of conventional energy resources and the coincidental raise in energy demand. Research in this context focuses on optimized technologies for energy consuming components, energy generation and energy transport. A remaining challenge is energy optimization of complex systems during their operation time, regarding human-machine-interaction. This paper introduces an electrical energy analysis with automated generation of optimization proposal for industrial automation systems. The approach considers all influences on the system´s electrical energy consumption and generates optimization proposals. Hence, a goal-oriented selection of energy optimization measures becomes possible.
