Abstract :
This paper studies novel class of parametric spatial solitons supported simultaneously by two nonlinear quadratic-optical processes: second-harmonic generation and sum-frequency mixing in quasi-phase-matched media. Three-harmonic multistep cascading of diffractive beams is investigated in quadratic periodically poled media by the (1 + 1) D normalized equations for slowly varying envelopes.
