Abstract :
Cars have become the traffic vehicles increasingly depended by people in current world, thus people pay much attention to car safety and have higher requirements. Nearly every type of cars needs impact test to evaluate safety and the need for impact test system of car safety has been increasing. Conventional safety impact test system is pneumatic, hydraulic or institutional driven. The concept of electromagnetically driven impact test system is proposed in this paper, that is, homopolar generator is used as energy storage and current transformation device and simple rail launcher is as drive. It has advantages such as short acceleration lemgth, stable acceleration , easy operation and control, with main parameters as 500~2000 kg of load mass and 36~80 km/h of speed.
