Abstract :
A computationally tractable approach is proposed for robust pole location analysis of uncertain linear and tine-invariant dynamical systems. It is shown that if the characteristic polynomial coefficients depend linearly on uncertain system parameters, the root domain of the family of polynomials generated by allowing the parameters to take on arbitrary values in prescribed intervals can be easily obtained by using only a test on suitable phase plots of a particular set of polynomials. An extension to the case of nonlinearly dependent coefficient perturbations is proposed
