Abstract :
A set of intelligent decision support tools has recently been developed for specifically answering the complexity of multicriteria product design under strong constraints. These tools focus on selection of relevant design factors, determination of operation setting space meeting rapidly the desired quality specifications, and overall assessment of prototypes. Combining experimental data analysis and human knowledge, the proposed tools can help effectively the designers to understand the product structure/behavior and to realize the representative prototypes with limited time and measurements. The proposed tools set is illustrated though a case study concerning multifunctional textile material design.
