Abstract :
A dipole antenna fed by electromagnetic coupling to an open-ended transmission line in a nonreciprocal two-layer microstrip geometry is investigated. The method of moments is used in conjunction with a quasi-TEM (transverse electromagnetic) analysis to compute the antenna characteristics. It is shown how an external magnetic biasing field can be used to improve the matching capabilities of and obtain desired radiation behavior from this antenna. The effects of various design parameters on the VSWR (voltage standing wave ratio) of the nonreciprocal antenna geometry are demonstrated.<>
