Abstract
A new class of blind adaptive channel equalization technique is presented which is based on reduced-constellation criterion. Under this criterion, the two-dimensional signal space is replaced with four-point constellation to compute blind estimate of the transmitted signal. The proposed algorithm is shown as a better alternative to an existing family of reduced-constellation (or multimodulus) algorithms. The proposed generalized reduced-constellation algorithm (GRCA) is shown to possess good interference cancellation capabilities.
