Abstract :
The one-dimensional plane wave propagation of a transient TEM (transverse electromagnetic) pulse in a homogeneous isotropic chiral material is analyzed. Using asymptotic techniques the authors have derived expressions for the electric field at various times of interest and observed similarities and differences between transient responses in chiral and nonchiral materials.<>
