Abstract :
A ´quantum laser pointer´ in two dimensions is realized, with two squeezed light and one intense coherent beams. These beams is in well defined mutually orthogonal transverse modes, which is termed as flipped modes. The challenges in generating such light states are three fold: (1) the production of two stable sources of squeezed light; (2) the mode shaping of these light beams into their respective transverse modes, and (3) the near-lossless mixing of all these modes to form a single spatial light beam. To achieve these goals, optical parametric amplifiers, special phase plates and a mode discriminating optical resonator are used.
