Abstract :
The growing size and complexity of Web sites amplify problems such as user disorientation and cognitive overload, which limit their effectiveness and usefulness. By adapting the Web applications content, structure, and interface to the goals and interests of the users, the effects of these problems could be reduced. We propose a goal-driven approach to Web application engineering. We believe that a navigational session within a Web application corresponds to the fulfillment of a set of goals by the Web user. So a Web navigational conceptual schema is defined as well organized adaptive navigational views over the Web application information domain. Finally, the proposed approach permits a neat isolation of Web application´s data management, navigation design, and interface design. Such separation of concern supports reusability, portability, and maintenance tasks
