Abstract
We present a concept based on mobile agents, that allows users to find useful information within a certain domain without knowing the exact location of the information resource. The description of the resource content and its location, the information metadata, is listed within a directory. Using mobile agents, different directories can be linked among each other to create a global distributed and dynamic directory. Based on the functionality of the underlying mobile agent system, we show a method to propagate the location of a single directory independent of centralized routing information
