Abstract :
A new class of entire-domain basis functions, particularly suitable for the full-wave analysis of printed arrays with elements of general shape is presented. These functions, called "dynamic modes", are obtained from the response of a single antenna and include the effect of the coupling to the feed network. Application to the analysis of a three element array shows that they lead to a numerically efficient compression of the impedance matrix.
