Abstract :
The design of a free-space frequency diplexer based on inductive frequency selective surfaces (FSSs) suitable to be applied to the ITALSAT ground station antenna is reported. A preliminary trade-off activity has been performed to find the most promising element shape for this application. A general analysis computer program for inductive FSS has been implemented and validated. Using this software tool, the applicability of inductive FSS to the ground station has been verified, obtaining, after a trade-off between different geometries, an interesting configuration both from the mechanical and the electrical points of view.<>
