Abstract :
The authors present experimental results on the electrical characteristics of a mesh surface and an equivalent model to predict more details. An example of a mesh surface application to a large deployable antenna is shown in the case of the VSOP antenna in Japan. The transmission loss was measured at an incident angle from 0 to 75 degrees at intervals of 15 degrees in both polarizations. Analysis was carried out using a strip aperture model. The calculated transmission loss using the derived model is shown. The anisotropy and the dependence on the incident angle and polarization are simulated well.<>
