Abstract :
Passively Q-switched microchip lasers are compact, robust, high-performance devices that produce subnanosecond, multikilowatt optical pulses. They are enabling new classes of fieldable instruments to perform ranging and imaging, micromachining, material characterization, and environmental monitoring.
