Abstract :
The paper presents a novel effective energy conservation, utilization and power quality enhancement devices for damping switching transients and load excursion using modulated filter and capacitor compensator (MPF/C) Green Plug developed by Dr A.M Sharaf for 2 phase, 3 wire household load. The novel tri loop Sharaf´s dynamic error driven controller is fully validated. The switching transients and load disturbances are greatly reduced. The neutral voltage is also lowered and the supply power factor is improved, hence the power utilization is enhanced. The validation study had been done for balanced linear load, unbalanced linear load and unbalanced non linear type load with and without the (MPF/C) compensator. Simulation study is made for ground type fault, short circuit faults, and open circuit type faults. Satisfactory results are compared without and with the use of the tri loop dynamic error driven controller and the MPF/C devices
