Abstract :
This paper examines the performance of a multi amplitude and multidimensional schemes for high speed digital radio systems over bandlimited channels in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN), intersymbol interference (ISI) and multipath fading. The penalty in SNR is reduced by means of efficient modulation/coding and demodulation/decoding techniques. In particular, we demonstrated a candidate scheme, called 4A8DS (4-amplitudes and 8-dimensional signalling), with promising performance for future microwave digital radio systems
