Abstract :
Based on the constitution of the band brake and the heat transfer theory, a 3D model of the band brake has been established with PRO/E software. And the mechanical stress field and the stress distributions of the model in rated and failure condition have been analyzed with MSC. Nastran software. The accuracy of the finite element model has been confirmed by experiments. All the results can provide references for improving a design.
