Abstract
This paper explores the nature of "demons in the IT workplace" and the implications of those demons, including the social and ethical implications of the products that IT professional produce. How professional codes of ethics and professional practice can act to mitigate these demons is also discussed. This article also suggests that IT professionals and academics can use demons in the workplace as a point of departure for investigating the larger human reality.
