Abstract :
The optimum transmit power for an incoherent optical code-division multiple-access (OCDMA) system is evaluated for various transmission distances and data rates considering the stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) nonlinear effects. Numerical simulations have been carried out for this purpose. It is shown that the optimum power decreases with the distance up to a certain distance where the optimum power stabilizes at approximately the same value for all longer distances.
