Abstract :
This paper describes the application of signal processing tools for a qualitative analysis of motor vibration subjected to different loading conditions. The motor chosen here is a three phase squirrel cage Induction Motor of rating 1.5 kW. Discrete wavelet transform (DWT) has been performed on the raw time-domain vibration signal correspond to the three different loading conditions viz-low, medium and high. The frequency selective signals obtained through DWT at three different levels are then passed through a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) routine to extract relative frequency information between different loading conditions.
