Abstract :
This paper presents a unique implementation of the recursive Gauss-Newton, (GN), algorithm operated by maximum likelihood estimation for tracking and extracting the common current quality problems such as current harmonics. Moreover, this paper proves that the utilization of the ramp-comparison current controller, (the linear current controller), for the operation of the shunt power conditioner is superior to the hysteresis current controller, (HCC), for current regulation. Also, this paper exhibits the mitigation results for current harmonics using the shunt active filter. The effectiveness of the developed extraction technique with the employed current controller for the active filters is verified by simulation results.
