Abstract :
In contrast to the voltage-source converter, the current-source PWM AC/DC converter has the LC filter between the source and the converter, which may cause an LC resonance both in steady and transient states. Many reports have been published to improve the current distortion in steady state and to suppress the current oscillation in transient state of the current-source PWM converter. In this paper, the authors propose two suppression schemes of transient oscillation for the current-source three-phase PWM AC/DC converter. One suppression method is based on the feedback control of the fluctuation component of the capacitor voltage. The other one is based on the open-loop control with the rate limiter of the input current reference. The design of the suppression control system and the LC filter is described. The effectiveness of the proposed approach has been verified by experiments
