Abstract :
Traditionally, command, control, communications, computer and intelligence (C4I) systems have existed in environments separate from simulation systems. Simulation systems are in wide use throughout the Department of Defense (DoD). Most existing simulations are distinguished by a focus on a particular functional area, without regard for the utility of interneting the simulation with other systems. While simulation interoperability has received significant attention in recent years, the lion´s share of that attention has been in the training area. There is a natural relationship between C4I systems and simulation systems which is currently under exploited. This paper discusses that relationship, and how it can provide significant benefits to the decision maker
