Abstract
A C++ algorithm for the analysis of wave scattering has been developed. Properties of object-oriented programming (OOP) have been utilized to make the resultant code extremely easy to read. Although it is very difficult to quantify the time saved by the use of OOP techniques in developing the present program, it is believed that the throughput time has been at least halved. Encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism have been applied to develop a real-time interactive program. With application of these OOP techniques, maintenance and enhancement of the program would become much easier.<>
