Abstract :
We demonstrated a monolithic integration of electroabsorption duplexer (EAD) based on dual waveguide structure with spot size converter (SSC). The optical fiber to fiber insertion loss of the module was -10 dB. The responsivity of PD and the extinction ratio (ER) of the EAM was 0.72 A/W and 20 dB respectively. The small signal 3 dB bandwidth of electrical-to-optical (E/O) and optical-to-electrical (O/E) response was 25 GHz and 8 GHz respectively.
