Abstract :
The recursive aggregate T-matrix algorithm (RATMA) is used to solve for the scattering solution of an oblong, multilayer, dielectric-coated ogive body. Because the recursive algorithm has reduced computational complexity and memory requirement, the scattering solution of a 10-wavelength-long ogive coated with dielectric layers can be calculated on a PC and the solution agrees well with the method of moments. The method enables the volume scattering from the dielectric region to treated on the same footing as the metallic scatterer. It is demonstrated that this method works well for oblong scatterers with a high aspect ratio. This method is competitive with iterative methods such as the conjugate gradient method since it provides a full scattering solution valid for all incident angles.<>
